Below are some notes on installations as well as some part numbers I want to keep up with.

Here is a procedure I used to install several of the parts with references:

  1. Warm car
  2. Configure Stage 2 with code adjustments TGV replication
  3. Flash ECU
  4. Put car on pad and lift rear
  5. Remove muffler and downpipe
    1. Ref Grimmspeed instructions
    2. Ref Center Exhaust Instructions
    3. Ref Rear Exhaust Instructions
  6. Install new downpipe, relocate oxygen sensor, install muffler
  7. Drain the oil while warm
  8. Remove and mark wheels (DF, PF, DR, PR respectively which soap stone)
  9. Take pictures of engine, battery, TMIC and other parts
  10. Remove battery
  11. Remove Sound Generator and plug the hole.
  12. Remove the TMIC or This.
  13. Replace Clutch and Brake lines and bleed the system
  14. Add pitch stop mount
  15. Add Master Cylinder brace
  16. Take pictures of belts and routing on front of engine, loosen alternator
  17. Install oil pressure sensor, ref manual
  18. Tape off old oil pressure warning light wire
  19. Install Wideband sensor
  20. Find and route to TGV sensor, use this as reference?
  21. Install AOS
  22. Reinstall TMIC and adjust recirc valve
  23. Add oil
  24. Install battery
  25. Install gauges
  26. Check Oil Level
  27. Check Coolant Level
  28. Do final checks and start car checking for oil leaks, reinstall skid plate
  29. Bleed coolant system
  30. Check alternator belt tension
  31. TORQUE ROAD WHEEL LUGS!
  32. Do clutch and brake check
  33. Re-Check oil level
  34. Re-TORQUE ROAD WHEEL LUGS!

Torque Values!:

  • Center exhaust to rear exhaust pipe, ref G1190BEV11_125.pdf, 13.3ft-lbs.
  • Downpipe to Turbocharger housing, ref G1190BEV11_123.pdf,  42.5 N·m (4.3 kgf-m, 31.3 ft-lb)
  • Oil pan bolt 34.3ft-lbs
  • Oil filter 107in-lbs (8.9ft-lbs) 1.2kg-m
  • Brakes, front & rear, union bolt: 26 N·m (2.7 kgf-m, 19.2 ft-lb)
  • Brakes, front & rear, hose to flare nut: 15 N·m (1.5 kgf-m, 11.1 ft-lb)
  • Oxygen Sensor, ref G1190BEV11_52.pdf, 21 N·m (2.1 kgf-m, 15.5 ft-lb)
  • Alternator bolts, ref G1190BEV11_156.pdf, 25 N·m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)
  • Alternator belt deflection, ref G1190BEV11_106.pdf, 9 — 11 mm (0.354 — 0.433 in) used part.
  • Wheel lug nuts, ref G1190BEV11_520.pdf, 120 N·m (12.2 kgf-m, 88.5 ft-lb)
  • Throttle body bolts, ref G1190BEV11_37.pdf, 8 N·m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.9 ft-lb)
  • Recirculation (Recirc)/BOV valve to intercooler, ref G1190BEV11_90.pdf, 16 N·m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

Note:

  • TGV codes:
    P2004, P2006, P2007, P2009, P2012, P2016, P2017, P2021 and P2022
  • Engine oil pressure:
    Running 5w-30 as recommended by the factory, see 15-20 psi at factory idle, reference. Switched to 5w-40 per tuner recommendation after pro tune due to climate.
